By: Anthony Cannella Recently, the boys from California, Angels And Airwaves, returned to Chicago, Illinois at the House Of Blues and they brought special guests The New Regime and Charming Liars. This SOLD OUT show will be a night we will never forget about as each band put on an incredible performance. The environment and atmosphere that these bands presented gave the venue no choice, but to have an amazing night of Rock. Check out below to see how this show truly was and what’s to come for each band in 2019 and 2020! Charming Liars Photos by Anthony Cannella The New Regime Photos by Anthony Cannella Charming Liars started the night to perfection as they put the House Of Blues in a positive vibe right away. Their set consisted of music from their EP’s and new album "Thought, Flesh and Bone", which was released in March 2019. If you catch these guys live, it is very clear on why they are having a breakout year! The New Regime came on after and set the bar even higher as they crushed their set. Angels And Airways drummer, Ilan Rubin, came out and showed us exactly what he could do with his guitar and powerful vocals in this project of his. They played music from their new album “Heart” that was released on September 6th! This album is only the first part of a four-part album that is titled “Heart Mind Body & Soul”. Stay on the lookout for some more new music by The New Regime and make sure you do not miss out on upcoming shows of theirs when presented. You will not be disappointed! Angels and Airwaves Photos by Anthony Cannella As Angels And Airwaves took the stage, the crowd went off due to it being so long since they were able to see them last! Seven years to be exact. Although it has been a while, we can guarantee you that they have not lost a step at all. Tom DeLonge (lead vocals, guitar), David Kennedy (guitar, keyboards), Matt Rubano (bass) and Ilan Rubin (drums, backing vocals) wasted no time as they belted out their hits right from the start. Along with their hits from the previous years, they worked in their new singles “Rebel Girl” and “Kiss & Tell”, via Rise Records, very well, which allowed their fans to know they are here to stay. Toward the end of their set, Tom took the stage alone for a segment called Tom’s Ballad. During this segment, he explained everything over the years all the way up to the present. Tom stated things such as how his relationship with Blink 182 is still solid and nothing but love, explained his career with Blink 182 and Box Car Racer, explained how Angels And Airwaves started and then gave us a taste of the hits he was involved in as he played a song from Box Car Racer and “I Miss You” from the Blink 182 days. Angels And Airwaves played their set as if they had something to prove and we think that is why the set and this tour was so special. Special not only to them, but to the fans as well. After this tour we can definitely assure them that we are behind them one hundred percent! Although this tour is over, Angels And Airwaves are not done yet in 2019, which will lead into 2020! Check out below to see their upcoming shows! |
