By: Josh VestLast Saturday Fear Factory rolled into the Palladium in Worcester to celebrate Demanufacture's 20th anniversary and perform it from front to back, along with fan favorites and newer tunes off of their newest release Genexus and needless to say it was quite the celebratory bash bringing along bands like Spades and Blades and the mighty Soilwork from Sweden who played a slew of fan favorite tunes.
The night started out with a slew of local bands that tore it up with bands like local acts like ruin ripping it up, then the night kicked into overdrive Soilwork hitting the stage, performing songs off their latest release The Ride Majestic, and performing classics Figure Number Five, Stabbing the Drama and more. The energy between bjorn and his band mates with the connection with the fans was almost surreal where you could feel the electricity and you couldn't help but move any which way possible, which was a great prelude for things to come the machine its self Fear Factory. Fear Factory hit the stage and the mosh pits started to funnel, the way Burton and Dino were in sync with newcomers to the band Tony Campos and Mike Heller, you would think they have been playing together for the entire 20 years Demanufacture has been out. Burton and Dino were on point and every song off of Demanufacture was on point and did not skip a beat, then after playing Demanufacture from front to back they Hit fans hard with classics Shock, Edge Crusher, What Will Become, even a self titled song Archetype which showcased Burton's Range and pitch is still impressive and on point, the band also threw in some newer songs off of Genexus, which if you haven't picked it up already is a must if you're a fan of old school Fear Factory. The band closed out the show with Martyr where they brought out young act Spades and Blades to hang out and join on vocals. Fear Factory proved that they still have plenty left in the tank and for many years to come and if you haven't seen them yet you most definitely should! |
