Thievery Corporation’s track, "Letter To The Editor" from their newest record "The Temple of I & I" manifested itself into music video form and premiered earlier this week February 20th via Afropunk, featuring Racquel Jones and directed by Richard Elgood.
Watch the video above!
The overall vibe an Jamaican aesthetic shine through just perfectly in this video as it shows off the musical styles of Kingston's Racquel Jones and the genuine look into the rich and rhythmic culture that encapsulates the vibrant nation , one of main points of the record as a whole.
Eric Hilton of the group reminisces about Jones as a "shy, sweet Kingston girl. Then she dropped lyrical fire that burnt down the whole studio. This little video was shot indy-style on location in Kingston to give a small taste of the new Thievery Corporation LP, The Temple of I & I."
This small taste only succeeds in making listeners and fans craving more and more from the group and making us only all the more anxious in seeing what Thievery Corporation has in store next!

Seattle rockers The Classic Crime have finally announced their new album titled “How To Be Human,” that will be releasing April 28 via BC Music. Five years since the critically acclaimed LP “Phoenix” the band is back to doing what they do best. The album actually began as a Kickstarter that saw over 2,500 backers raising just under $100,000, tripling their initial goal of $30,000.
On the record, listeners will find 12 tracks of the indie variety. Assisting on the album will be industry veteran, producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette. The band promises that this album will be their most mature record out of their extensive repertoire.
Frontman Matt MacDonald explains his feelings on the new album saying, "Control and comfort will always reel us back in some. . .But I like to cast out as far as I can to see if we can catch something good."
With that explanation, we’re sure this album will give fans everything they didn’t know they wanted, and we here at Headrush TV are very excited. Album pre-orders start March 20th via PledgeMusic !
Don’t forget that the band has also announced their April/May U.S. tour! Be sure to check out below for dates! For more information as well as music, check out the band’s website, Spotify, and Pandora!

Just today, more news from the Highly Suspect camp as they announce the release of their new video for the Grammy-nominated song “My Name is Human” premiering via Vanity Fair.
Watch the video above!
Directed by Marc Klasfeld, best known for his work with the likes of Jay-Z, Fun., Katy Perry, and The Red-Hot Chili Peppers, the video stars a familiar face, actress Chloe Bridges of Pretty Little Liars, as well as The Carrie Diaries, The Final Girls, alongside frontman Johnny Stephens.
On the subject of the video, Stephens spoke with Vanity Fair saying,
“A lot of people think the song is about being a human. . .I believe some of us aren’t human at all. Or at least not completely, but that is still our name. At some point in the last couple hundred years something changed. The androids, the aliens. . . They aren’t coming. We are here. A molecule can enter our atmosphere and change the entire worlds genetic makeup without anyone taking notice. You think little green men are the aliens? My ‘name’ is human. And Chloe Bridges rules.”
What did you think of the new video? Let us know in the comments and all over social media! Don’t forget the band is touring nationwide, but get your tickets fast because they’re selling out fast!

Goldie’s debut album Timeless was released almost 22 years ago. Goldie’s music pioneered electronic dance music. There’s no lying here, the San Diego singer/songwriter Cody Lovaas releases the video for the “insanely catchy” single for “Lie” earlier this month on February 9th. The video premiered on the indie music website Pancakes and Whiskey who praised the single stating, “With its insanely catchy beat and lyrics that flow like the Pacific Ocean, ‘Lie’ washes over us and in turn, just makes us feel good … The soulfulness that oozes from Cody in this track is impressive and will go a long ways in the bright future that he has” and we here at Headrush TV couldn’t agree more.
Lovaas has come far since being discovered by legendary artist, Jason Mraz, just at the young age of 14 years old. Since then Lovaas has been busy working on his soulful music and building a strong following with the help of Pancakes and Whiskey as well as supporting powerful acts like Ziggy Marley, Switchfoot, Donavon Frankenreiter and his founder Jason Mraz. Additionally, Lovaas built his fresh portfolio by securing the Best New Artist award at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards, and was nominated for Best Singer-Songwriter that same year.
Lovaas has also announced a list of California-based shows he will be performing soon. Check out the dates below!
At the pace Lovaas is working at now, he’s sure to have an extensive and successful future. Don’t Forget to check out his music on his website, Spotify, and YouTube page!

The SXSW 2017 artist line-up was recently released. For those of you who have not heard of SXSW we have you covered! South by Southwest is an arts and film festival. The festival has slowly grown and blown up into something way more than just a simple film festival. SXSW has become instrumental (no pun intended), in terms of promoting many young budding artists but, has also garnered the attention of some top tier performers looking for exposure. The Strokes, Kanye West, Sia, and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys are all veterans of the event. The Festival will take place in March 10-19, 2017 in Austin, TX
With that said SXSW is about the performers who have not hit the mainstream. This is a way for them to break into the industry by preforming to their highest ability for a chance at being played on the radio waves. Some performers to look for are Anna Wise, Knox Hamiltion, GGOOLLDD, and Sundara Karma. Anna wise has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar several times earning herself a Grammy for “These Walls.” Wise recently released “Coconuts” which brings the listener to an ephemeral sound that sounds like jazz but, feels like alternative. Knox Hamilton is a band reminiscent of bands like T.V On The Radio and Coin. What sets Knox Hamiltion apart from other indie-arena rock bands it their fuller sound. Their instrumental sound is more refined than most in their genre.
GGOOLLDD bridges the alternative with EDM with a hint pop. With that said their sound is ineffable and unlike anything any other artist is doing. There is something about their tunes that just makes you tap your feet and want to dance like indie kids do. I highly suggest you listen to GGOOLLDD’s “Under Covers” as a teaser for your ears. Sundara Karma is an alternative rock group mixed with heavy rifts and loud music that you just want to set the volume to max to drown out the world around you. Sunadara Karma has a loud presence that cannot be ignored. They are currently on tour with Two-Door Cinema Club.
There are so many artists at this event as it is nine days. To learn more about the artists mentioned above and not mentioned click here. If you would like to help out with the event many of the artists have their fans market for them during the event. SXSW is all about the future big dogs in music. Be sure to keep it tuned here for more SXSW updates!

The electronic duo from DC, Thievery Corporation, released their new LP titled “The Temple of I & I” last Friday, February 10th. The duo got fans hyped by releasing the LP on streaming services two days before the record went out for sale.
With this new record the band opted for a sound reminiscent of Jamaican-style music which was praised by Consequence of Sound who said the band, "reflect on the destruction and decay brought on by greed, employing a nice balance of magnetic confidence and smooth thoughtfulness."
Eric Hilton of the duo recounts the meaning of the album title stating, “The Temple of I & I is a place of worship that exists only in our imagination; a place where all people are chosen people and the unity of living things is possible. So much of the world is divided into tribes and belief systems that have imprisoned people's consciousness and allowed a few to control the many. Culture can be a blessing and a curse. Humanity transcends tribe and culture. This has been a constant theme in Thievery Corporation's message since day one"
Check out the Thievery Corporation’s website to purchase physical copies of the new album and be sure to check duo’s Spotify, SoundCloud, and YouTube pages to check out their music!

Chicago-native indie group The Bigger Empty picked up a deal with La Escalera records and will be releasing a set of 4 EP’s, “Lakes and Oceans” starting with “Lakes and Oceans Vol. 1: Michigan.” The first volume is set to release February 24th with the following three released throughout the rest of the year.
Frontman Mike Felumlee recounts his explanation of the EP’s “The overall theme of this project is about relationships, mostly romantic relationships but not entirely. I’ve found that the ups and downs through our various relationships in our lives resemble the movements of great bodies of water. Sometimes they’re peaceful and calm and everything is great and beautiful. Other times they can be turbulent, terrifying and even dangerous.”
Pre-Order Bundles are now available through La Escalera’s website!
We here at HRTV are excited to see what else is store for the band, so stay tuned here for updates! Don’t forget to check out the band on Spotify and YouTube!
