"To everyone who doubted..."
A fitting line from I Prevail to announce their new single "Bow Down"; a solitary lyric pulled from this song that delivers their message perfectly. After years of waiting, I Prevail comes out strong with a single that hits hard and distinctly embodies the band's unique sound. Sections of the song cease the hard, in-your-face rock for just a breath of a moment; a silent second between the words "Bow" and "Down" that stops your heart just to restart it harder than before.
Just a few days after the release of this single and it's music video, the band dropped yet another single off their newly announced album "Trauma". This single, entitled "Breaking Down", addresses a deeper and more sensitive topic. This song and video tell a very personal story from Brian himself, as can be witnessed in a message at the end of the music video.
This is a personal story of depression - the ups and downs of it all, the struggles to feel right with the world you're in and, sometimes even harder, to feel right with yourself. It is a powerful song that has begun to elicit endless emotional responses and commentary of people sharing their own stories. This song creates a safe place to be honest - honest with yourself and the world, honest in a way that is terrifying to admit and paralyzing to cope with at times.
In a world where everyone stays quiet and alone in their emotions and their struggles, I Prevail does not disappoint; they have embraced this topic of conversation and created a song that blasts into the hard days to remind you of one important truth - you are not alone. This album is a masterpiece that will instill the feeling of power, of control, of strength, of community, and most importantly - of hope.
As this album is released in full on 03/29, the band just announced they will be setting out on a tour that you will not want to miss, accompanied by Issues and Justin Stone.
