By Francesco Albanese With Avenged lead guitarist Synyster Gates already two months into fatherhood, he says he's already got the feeling his son will surely follow in his footsteps.
Speaking with Cincinnati.com, Gates recounted having to miss one of their stadium shows earlier this year as to be present for the birth of his son, Nicolangelo "Nicci" Saint James. "We blocked out ten days before and after, so twenty days total, around his due date, thinking that that's enough time unless something crazy happens. And of course, something crazy happened. I had to cancel a show in Philly. Life is just a bunch of madness, but it's extremely exciting, and we're definitely having a good time." And of course, being the legendary guitarist he is, Gates has a feeling that his son surely has what he calls "the buzz." "He's going to be introduced to it all," says Gates. "We play him music all the time. He's got the buzz already. When I pick up the guitar or play piano or whatever. he focuses in. His attention span is pretty good when you're playing music or stimulating the guy like that. I know I'm biased. But it seems pretty obvious to me. He's already been on the road. He came out a few weeks ago when we were in Houston. He's already a road veteran." Well if that's the case, we will all be patiently waiting for the prodigy to become the mad musician we already see in his father.
