Boston Calling recently released its lineup for May 26-28th 2017. This year’s Boston calling will be held at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston. If you have ever lived in Boston and been a loving fan of rock/alternative music in the area as we have, you knew that it used to be held in City Hall Plaza. The change of venue is a welcome one. Keeping creative spaces fresh and new keeps energy moving - plus, it's always good to avoid packed downtown trains!
Tool is headlining the show and is followed up by heavy hitters like the beloved Mumford & Sons, Chance The Rapper, Weezer, The 1975 and Major Lazer. Some lesser known acts are Mac Demarco, Vundabar, and Wolf Parade. I recently saw Vundabar in October at the Brighton Music Hall and they are phenomenal. They have quickly become one of my favorite artists and I believe that they are a true dark horse in the world of alt/indie rock music. Mac Demarco brings a journey of low fidelity psychedelic rock. Wolf Parade has a stellar sound that bridges classic rock riffs with the sound and attitude of punk. Their songs are all different from the last and rarely do you hear something similar on their albums, with a lead vocalist whose voice brings to mind the late, great Jim Morrison.
If you want to learn more about the show or be a part of it, be sure to click the link below! They are still looking for paid staff as well as people to be a part of their street team. If you're hard on cash for tickets, this is a wonderful way to enjoy everything Boston Calling has to offer. And as always, for all your rock news and updates on this legendary festival, you're always welcome to hang out here at Headrush TV.
