The music video for Track #08 "Torn In Two" is reminiscent to the thrilling film, Insidious (2010). The plot is parallel in nature: the father in the narrative un-earths reality to visit the satanic under-world in search for their missing child, which, we are led to believe, may have been abducted by demons.
The genres Breaking Benjamin selected to this video include fantasy, horror and adventure; the visual effects in the production are stunning - an impressive narrative.
The live-performance aspect of this video is captured with red and blue highlights contrasting each band member. Watch for yourself in the video above!

Lyrics: "I am torn in two - Hold on, hold on - We're barely alive;
I am faded through - Hold on, hold on - The fallen arise;
I will fight this war for you; And let the dawn of love survive;
Broken, I crawl back to life."
Prior to the album's release, the band had previously aired singles. According to Rock Revolt Magazine, these included, "Red Cold River," "Save Yourself," "Psycho," as well as "Feed the Wolf" and "Blood."
Let's recall that the dictionary definition of 'Ember' is that of a "glowing fragment [ex: coal, wood] from a fire; especially one smoldering in ashes."
Combined with the album artwork, where the 'Ember' is smoldering in the eye of the beholder; I'm personally drawn to believe the theme could be a metaphor of the human soul experiencing itself; fire and passion as catalysts.
For intro purposes, "Lyra" and the outro, "Vega" are both exclusively instrumentals which set the melodic tone to mysticism throughout this album.
4. "Tourniquet" | The guitar riffs are heavy in addition to the lyrics, "Love will tie the tourniquet - And suffocate me." So what is a Tourniquet? Well, you know when you get your blood pressure drawn from the doctor's and they apply a bandage on your arm to compress the area? Basically, this is the most famous application; find photos of the contraption in this Wikipedia link here.
6. "The Dark of You" | This song opens with a nature-sampled thunderstorm until the keyboard begins; relatively this one is a much slower tempo than the heavier singles, with a dream-like lyrical flow. Lyrics include: "We live, we breathe, we die - Forever lost in time."
7. "Down" | Beginning with a science-fiction video game dark-undertone space-wave or robot-noise samples; this song then revolts into a heavier bass.
11. "Close Your Eyes" | A stronger introduction here, the ending lyrics include, "Take the rebel from within - Now I know that I’ll survive - Show me how the vain pretend - As I watch this world collide - Fate will guide you to the end - And there will be no hope to hide."
