By Camran Ferrier Today Green Day released a new song, “Back In The USA” and accompanying music video to mark the release of their newest album, Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band. The music video pays homage to John Carpenter’s ‘They Live’, a 1988 sci-fi horror film, where the band is in a black and white, 1960's American town and discovers that by using these sunglasses they can see the subliminal messaging around them. The sounds is evolved, but still undeniably Green Day, Check out the video below! The album is now available to purchase on every music platform via Reprise Records and encapsulates the bands 31 years together as well as their plethora of musical works. The album contains 20 of their best hits and is dubbed ‘The Ultimate Playlist’ by none other than the trio themselves. Along with the 20 re-released tracks, there are also two new songs- ‘Back In The USA’ and ‘Ordinary World’ featuring Country Music superstar Miranda Lambert. This is the second time Billie Joe Armstrong and Lambert have collaborated, the first being a duet in tribute to Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers at the 56th Grammy Awards. The Berkley band adopted the title of ‘God’s Favorite Band’ after appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where they were introduced as such. With 12 studio albums, over 75 million records sold and five Grammys under their belt it may well be the case that God has them on shuffle- and you should to!
