Aaron Marshall (aka Intervals) has released his newest album, The Way Forward on all music platforms as of December 1st 2017! The instrumental guitarist blew up after his last album, The Shape of Colour dropped back in 2015 and has been touring worldwide since with artists such as Plini, Animals as Leaders and Nick Johnson to name a few. Intervals just finished a European tour with Polyphia and Nick Johnston where fans got to hear a taste of the new music live, and with some of the tracks released early the rest of the fanbase was similarly hyped for this album. Intervals collaborated with another musician by the name of Owane after completing the compositions and arrangements to add more depth, and listening to the end result it is easy to hear that whatever they did payed off! Have a listen to the first track off of the new record, played through by Intervals himself:
The inspiration behind the album was Marshall's childhood and formative years, but to make it more relatable to listeners they explored archetype of the hero in storytelling and looked at the journey they go through to reach the resolution. The visual design concept for the record, created by Tim Grove, is based on early 90's pop art as well as surrealist artist such as Salvador Dali, and the amalgamation of all these different influences created a fantastic album called The Way Forward.
