Philip Anselmo & the Illegals will be postponing their tour with King Parrot. In January, Anselmo underwent a back surgery and he believed that he would need more time to be “one-thousand percent” on stage.
This is not the first time Anselmo had back problems. In 2006, he went through a major surgery. Unfortunately, the pain had yet to subside. He believes he needs another operation which would hopefully be his final. He is hoping to correct “one little nagging thing” that was still causing him pain. "I think once they zap that, shit… I guess I'll be closest to feeling as close to normal for the first time in decades,” Philip told WSOU.
Philip Anselmo & the Illegals issued their second full-length album, Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue, in January. “[The album] is going to get hated. It's going to get loved. Like every record, I've ever done, I put zero expectations upon my peers, critics or the general fucking public,” the front-man said about the recent release.
Stay tuned for the rescheduled tour dates and we hope for Anselmo’s speedy recovery.
