By Haley Biermann Chicago rockers SOiL have released a new video for their track “Gimme Some Lovin'!” The song will appear on Scream: The Essentials, the band’s upcoming hits collection album. The album will celebrate the band’s 20-year career with songs from their early days, as well as alternate versions of their most popular songs. It is due out September 15 via Pavement Entertainment and AFM Records. “Gimme Some Lovin’” originally hit the music scene in 1966. It was originally recorded by the Spencer Davis Group, and gained even more popularity when it was featured in the 1980 film, The Blues Brothers. SOiL decided to put a cool hard rock spin on the hit classic, and its modern sound is definitely something to get pumped about. Other tracks on the new album include an acoustic version of the song “Can You Heal Me,” as well as the track “Give It Up,” which features vocals from the late Wayne Static from Static X. The video displays black and white footage of the band performing. The start of the video contains a post-script that reads, ““To the SOiL fans: Thank you for 20 years of madness, mayhem and metal!” SOiL begins their “SCREAM: The Tour” in Flint, Michigan next month. Saving Abel and Kirra will perform with them through October. Flaw and Gabriel and the Apocalypse will take on the supporting role for November and December. You can find all dates here.
