Track 01: "Right Left Wrong"
Ok ya'll, in our interview, Barry Stock exclaimed the following quote about the album, "One of my favorite tracks [unreleased] is about being righteous everyday; even if one doesn’t know where they’re going specifically."
Yes! We can now publicly address that the one-of favorites unreleased track Barry mentioned in the quote, was Track #01, the song titled "Right Left Wrong."
On March 02, 2018 the band released a genre-crafted lyric video for the song and is available for view below, or following the YouTube link.
This song has a sick bass riff, and killer hook lyrics at the chorus, so those are my favorite parts yet, watching the thriller performance of the protagonist escaping an open terrain in the lyric video adds depth to the soul of the song.
Lyrics: “Sometimes I just want to run away - run away - run away;
[Bass riff]; I only want to disappear; Far from here; away from everyone;
Before I come undone. The time has come; so here I go. [OHHH]
Left Right Left; Right Left Wrong;
I don’t know where I’m going but I just keep moving on.”
Track 04: "Infrared"
Also within our interview with Barry, he explained, "Another [unreleased] song speaks about seeing each other differently in a relationship than others do."
You guessed it! This second [unreleased] song Barry had mentioned regarding relationships is Track #04, "Infrared."
Scroll down to the lyrics to decipher for yourselves, but as previously published, this song reminds me, personally, of: "Falling in love by locking eyes across the room [Soul-level connection]." Love allows us to feel like we are very special Outsiders!
Lyrics: "From the darkness, I see the light in you;
Don’t stress; no one knows what goes on in our heads;
We are invisible to the rest; they don't know nothing about what we have. Everyone’s living in black in white & we see each other in a different light;
Infrared; I know that you’ve burned enough of me; Fire in your blood stream; Moving through you at life speed. I see you (I see you).”
Track 06: "Me Against You"
The last Barry quote from our interview that we'll share today; he said, "an additional [unreleased] song inspires the theme to yell back and be bold.”
This third [unreleased] song Barry mentioned was regarding Track #06 "Me Against You." This song reminds me of, "Challenging an authoritarian oppressor [Facing bullies]." And the use of explicit language here is appropriate in my opinion, because it's a song about choosing your moral high-ground against corrupt evil.
Angry delivery in the vocals on this one, kudos!
Lyrics: “You need to get this straight; I will never cooperate with you;
You try to control me and the pain I feel seems to make you happy;
F*CK THAT; I’m down so low I got nothing to loose;
One put thoughts in my head, trying to tell me what to do.
If you have something to prove; you against me, me against you.”
Track 12: "The Abyss"
One of the songs from the album that had challenged my opinion on the meaning of 'Outsider' was the last song, Track #12, "The Abyss."
I had written down this emotional response after listening:
Three Days Grace crafted a well-rounded album; So many of us do feel like 'Outsiders' because of our inner demons; a very human song!
With, "The Abyss" they made a tribute to isolation, while "The Mountain" reminds us to pick ourselves back up and keep fighting for our dreams!
Lyrics: “It’s like another world exists; I want to go back into the abyss.
Lost inside my head; I open up the door; step right off the ledge;
Into the Abyss; Nothing that i know. I can’t hear what you say.”
