Aimee Allen (aka Aimee Interrupter) & The Interrupters brought the house down on Friday, March 8th to a packed house at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It also coincided with #internationalwomansday!

The Interrupters | March 8th, 2019 | Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
The stage was set very punk-ish with their fender guitar cabs, battery powered candles, rugs and various other decor giving it a calm yet punk feel. They had a large ‘Interrupters’ banner displayed behind the drum set as well. Kevin, Justin and Jesse Bivona (all three brothers) took the stage first and got the crowd hyped. After a minute or so Aimee came out like a ball of fire, jumping up on to a stand and putting her arms straight out greeting the crowd.
From there they jumped right into the music, playing 3 songs back to back without missing a beat. I must say, Aimee and the gang were highly energetic and you could tell they love playing their music in front of their fans. They thrive on the energy and excitement they see out in the crowd.
They played a mix of older tunes and newer, including the first single of their new record: "She’s Kerosene" and the newest “Gave you Everything.” They also played “Take Back the Power” and “She Got Arrested.” If you have yet to check out The Interrupters, I highly recommend it; you’ll be up on your feet the entire time. As it so happens they will be going out in support of 311 and Dirty Heads this summer!

Masked Intruder | March 8th, 2019 | Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Opening for The Interrupters was the mysterious and mischievous punk rock quintet Masked Intruder. Their sound definitely brings me back as a punk skater! Fast beats, quick guitars and lots of aggression is a good way to describe these masked menaces. On lead guitar you have Green, singing and rhythm guitar you have Blue, on the drums you have Red and on Bass you have, normally, Yellow however Purple was filling in while Yellow is in the slammer.  Standing watch over the band was the “officer,” making sure they didn’t get into any further trouble.
The band played tracks off their current record including “Please Come Back to Me” and “I’m Free at Last” as well as some older tunes like “Stick ‘Em Up” and “Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt.” One lucky fan was even brought up on stage to sing and dance along for a song, she did great! If the Masked Intruders are in your area I recommend going to see them live, just keep your valuables safely guarded.

Crystal Lake | 03.01.19 | Hartford, CT:
The show opened with Crystal Lake, performing all the way from Japan on their first North American tour. They played with experience far beyond their years, it was hard to believe this was their first major tour!

Miss May I | 03.01.19 | Hartford, CT:
Miss May I followed, keeping a more traditional “metal” performance alive. They played a blend of songs dating all the way back to "Relentless Chaos," commanding the stage with an assertive presence.

Fit For A King | 03.01.19 | Hartford, CT:
Fit For A King put on the most hectic set of the night, with their guitarist and bassist
finishing the set walking out over the crowd. It was a fun set to watch, and an even better set to listen to. From drummer to vocalist, the band was dialed in their entire set, and it sounded incredible.

August Burns Red | 03.01.19 | Hartford, CT:
August Burns Red headlined with their typical, overwhelming stage presence. While all of the supporting acts were good, the headliners were not to be outdone. August Burns Red passionately played songs from much of their discography, catering to the new fans and the long-timers.

It was a thrilling conclusion to an exhilarating night!
