By David McNally September 19, 2017 – Boston, MA @ Paradise Rock Club Only four days after the release The Stories We Tell Ourselves, Nothing Morecrashed into the Paradise Rock in Boston like a bolt of lightning.
Low UV-lighting with flashing strobes, the scene was set. One by one, Nothing Moretook to the stage and wasted no time getting right into “Christ Copyright.” The band didn’t miss a beat and gave the eccentric audience one hell of a night to remember. From Dan Oliver’s bass solo to the band covering a Skillex’s “First of the Year” featuring Johnny Hawkins playing an instrument unlike any other I have ever seen, Nothing More left the crowd wanting more. But in traditional Nothing More fashion, the band finished the show with no encore but rather delivering every last ounce of energy they had left into a fiery version of “Salem.” By Haley Biermann Headrush TV chatted it up with Seaway’s lead singer Ryan Locke. From the band’s upcoming third studio album release to their long list of tour dates to complete, the Seaway members are without a doubt keeping themselves busy.
Seaway is based in Canada and comprised of members Ryan Locke (lead vocals), Patrick Carleton (rhythm guitar, co-vocals), Andrew Eichinger (lead guitar, backing vocals), Adam Shoji (bass guitar), and Ken Taylor (drums). The band just wrapped up their Australian tour with With Confidence. The last stop was in Perth on August 26. Ryan Lock told Headrush, “It was our first time in Australia. We’ve done so many American tours and tours in the UK when we knew what we were getting into. To go to Australia for the first time felt really fresh.” But Seaway doesn’t want to stop their seafaring at the land down under. With Vacation due out September 15 via Pure Noise Records, the band is hoping for many more travel opportunities. Locke said, “Just today we announced a tour in Japan. We’re all wicked excited to play some shows over there. Moving forward we want to go to a lot of new places… We really want to get down to South America. There’s a lot of European cities we’ve never been to and we want to get to as many new places as we can with this new record.” In fact, the band is open to not only new experiences abroad, but also to those regarding their sound. Locke called Vacation a “big change in Seaway” admitting, “We’re very out of our element on this one.” The album was recorded in Los Angeles rather than Toronto, the band’s usual studio session location. The band lived in LA together for a month to complete the recording process. “We’d wake up in the morning, talk about the record, we’d go record all day, and then come home and talk about it. If it wasn’t about the music, it’d be about album artwork or music videos. Constantly being immersed in it 24/7 was a great advantage for us.” Locke also explained the inspiration behind the new album stating, “We’ve never really been the band to jump on any trends going on in the scene. We kind of go for a bit of a throwback 90s punk rock kind of vibe. There are certain songs on Colour Blind that touch on it, but for Vacation, we were ready to go full blown. Let’s make this record the record we’ve been waiting to make.” Seaway doesn’t have much of a break after Australia! The band begins their UStour with Four Year Strong this Wednesday, September 6 in Portland, Maine. Locke said, “Vacation is probably the best record we’ve ever written. I hope everyone likes it.” If you want to see Seaway with some music that is sure to impress, check out tour dates here!

If you miss the grunge sound of the ‘90s, you need to listen to this album.
Simple drum-beats, heavy guitar riffs, vocal reverb, and thought provoking lyrics are all present in the modern rock-duo, Black Satellite latest album Endless.Larissa Vale and Kyle Hawken have recorded something special.
I’ll be honest, after my first listen through Endless I wasn’t attracted to the album. The vibe made me want to – never mind, just a lot of dark thoughts. But willing to give it a second chance, I reconciled, and the album grew on me. Black Satellite brings in a heavy alternative, arena-grunge sound to the table on Endless there are some other obvious influences including Alice In Chains, Muse, Marilyn Manson and Nirvana. Lead vocalist Larissa Vale maintains a steady vocal pitch that really captures the sounds of this moment. The album begins in the shadows with the dark and eerie track ‘Affliction.’ Not much to say about this song other than the fact that it gave me the creeps – “Just set me on fire. Why can’t I make this pollution in my head? Why can’t I make this?” Jesus Christ – this song is by far the most edgy in my opinion, but it works. Valeconfronts her fears head on and embraces them and I commend her being so brutally honest. Personal favorites on the album are ‘Blind,’ ‘Valkyrie,’ and ‘Calamity.’ ͞These three tracks shine the brightest and best showcase the band’s ability to blend layers of guitar riffs with Vale’s dynamic vocals.
