On October 21st, 2018, the unforgettable The Sin And The Sentence World Tour visited Chicago, Illinois at the House Of Blues with hit bands Light The Torch, Avatar, and the mighty Trivium! With shows just wrapping up in North America, here’s what we could tell you about this insane #Metal tour in case you missed it.
From the start of the show till the last encore, the energy was through the roof with its sold-out crowd in Chicago. It is well known that a tour is only as good as its opening bands, but with this tour that was no issue. Light The Torch started on stage strong and heavy belting out their hits from their three albums The Beauty of Destruction (2014), They Bleed Red (2015), and their new album Revival (2018).
With a flawless performance, band members Francesco Artusato (Guitar), Howard Jones (Lead Vocals), Ryan Wombacher (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Mike Sciulara (Drums) set the standard high for the upcoming band. Especially Howard Jones, who slayed the people with his powerful voice giving the crowd the energy they needed.
As Avatar took the stage in full theme, they wasted no time as you could feel the venue shaking right from the first song. Band members, Jonas Kungen Jarlsby (Guitar), John Alfredsson (Drums), Johannes Eckerstrom (Lead Vocals), Henrik Sandelin (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Tim Öhrström (Guitar) are a site to witness at any chance you could get. The Swedish Heavy-Metal band not only works well with each other, but they put on one of the best live performances you will witness as a metal fan. In addition, seeing Avatar, you not only get an intense metal set, but they stage out their performance in a story manner. Meaning, you are in for treat if you ever catch Avatar live. Lead vocalist Johannes Eckerstrom does a fantastic job
leading this band of rockstars as his vocals go unmatched and keeps the crowd involved, even between songs. If you haven’t heard Avatar before, check out the videos below!
Light The Torch and Avatar are two bands that need to stay on your radar, due to the fact that they will not disappoint. These bands were the perfect combination before the legends of Trivium took the stage!

Sylar released their first full-length studio [11-track] album 'Seasons' on October 4th, 2018 via Hopeless Records during the #DiseaseTour; that's three days after the photos taken above. The band from Queens, NY opened up to the audience commenting it's the earliest they've played a set all tour [5PM]; yet that Chicago fans prove authority.
On Twitter; Sylar announced, "The wait is finally over! #Seasons [10.05.18] - Peep the new video for "All or Nothing" now:
Browse the HRTV archives here for a background on Knocked Loose and our review of their first full-length album, 'Laugh Tracks' (2016). The band kicked off the #DiseaseTour by announcing their set-list via Twitter; including four nostalgic tracks from their first EP: 'Pop Culture' (2014).
"Oblivion's Peak" ['16] opened the performance while "All My Friends" ['14] proceeded. The end of the setlist concluded with "Deadringer" ['16].
In the video above; we captured, "Counting Worms" ['18], "The Gospel" ['14'], "A Fetish" ['16], and a title ending of "Deadringer" ['16].
The highlight from the first Knocked Loose concert in attendance? Vocalist Bryan Garris exclaiming mid-way through the concert between a transition in tracks, "this one goes out to all the powerful women." The solidarity was incredible to witness.
Attending Beartooth performing their 2018 album 'Disease' [out since Sept. 28th] for the #DiseaseTour was a collectively empowering experience. Reflecting on the meaning behind the term "disease;" vocalist Caleb Shomo shared his journey recovering from depression carried by tracks of soulful instrumentals.
Caleb explained that there is a contagious fear that rock and roll is in peril; he allows the audience to resonate via a reflective moment of silence adding: "You and I - are not different. If you feel this way - please, tell someone. Don't go through this alone. -You are all beautiful. Your voices are amazing. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
The energy from the crowd was immersive throughout the concert. Throwbacks in their setlist included tracks from their previous albums: Disgusting (2014) and Aggressive (2016). Above; we feature, "Disease" ['18], "I Have A Problem" ['14], "Always Dead" ['16].
