Mayday Parade Rolls Through The Metro On Their 10 Year Anniversary Tour of Anywhere But Here12/15/2019 By: Anthony Cannella The year is 2009 and it’s the beginning of October. You’ve been waiting for months, since you found out Mayday Parade started writing their second studio album ‘Anywhere But Here’ in Elmwood Park, New Jersey at the House of Loud studio. October 6th comes, and the anticipation is over as they release their album along with their label Atlantic Records! Does this sound familiar!? Well recently at the Metro in Chicago, Illinois, we got a flashback of this time as Mayday Parade performed ‘Anywhere But Here’ in its entirety after a killer opening set by Sleep On It. The Metro in Chicago is a compact venue that is surrounded by speakers, which allowed this show to rock even more than it was already going to. With the compactness and venue shaking sound, it gave off that perfect Punk/Pop Punk vibe that gave the fans no choice, but to dance, scream the lyrics and crowd surf. Check out the photos below to see how much fun and energy this show brought! Mayday Parade Photos by Anthony Cannella Sleep On It Photos by Anthony Cannella In the venue, it was an amazing site to witness that there were people of all ages there. Young to slightly older fans packed the Metro without a care in the world, but to listen to music that came out when it was an easier time in all our lives. We would be lying if we said that it didn’t give off a Warped Tour type of vibe! We also know that it has been a while since this album came out, so if you weren’t there to catch these shows, here is the album track listing: "Kids in Love" (Mayday Parade, Gregg Wattenberg) – 3:36 "Anywhere But Here" (Mayday Parade, David Hodges) – 3:09 "The Silence" (Mayday Parade, Bobby Huff) – 3:35 "Still Breathing" (Mayday Parade, Dave Bassett) – 3:52 "Bruised and Scarred" (Mayday Parade, Huff, David Bendeth) – 3:23 "If You Can't Live Without Me, Why Aren't You Dead Yet?" (Mayday Parade, Huff) – 3:38 "Save Your Heart" (Mayday Parade, Huff) – 3:42 "Get Up" (Mayday Parade, Huff) – 3:03 "Center of Attention" (Mayday Parade, Sam Hollander, Dave Katz) – 3:01 "I Swear This Time I Mean It" (Mayday Parade) – 4:01 "The End" (Mayday Parade) – 3:37 To keep up on the latest news with tours and new projects with Mayday Parade and Sleep On It, visit the links below and remember there is nothing wrong with being FOREVER EMO! We were able to catch this Demonstration in Chicago, Illinois at the House Of Blues, where we saw how breathtaking this tour was. Each band gave their own twist on the show with their antics, which meshed well with each other. Hyde came out strong and showed us how heavy they could get in Japan! It truly showed why Hyde has been successful in this industry for a while now. Palisades wasted no time after as they had the House Of Blues shaking with the crowd jumping nonstop. Their insane performance got the venue hyped, especially when they belted out their version of Linkin Park’s song “Break”. Palisades gave the crowd exactly what they wanted with a wide setlist that mixed in songs from the newest album ‘Erase The Pain’ that was released via Rise Records. When their set was complete, the anticipation was over as STARSET rocked the stage from start to finish. Their antics go honestly unmatched as they take you on a journey that is worth the wait. With their entertaining stage presences and skillful performance, it will leave you wanting more. This six-piece band knows exactly what they are doing each time they are given an audience and will never fail to give the best experience possible. It is highly recommended that when there is a Demonstration near you that you check it out and have an unforgettable voyage with STARSET. Check out the photos below to see how the show was!
