By Haley Biermann The 2017 Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards have announced 3 award recipients as well as new performers and special guests to appear at the big event. The APMAs will be broadcasted live on July 17 from the Quicken Loans Arena, Ohio. Hosted by Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack, the event will showcase a diverse, and might we add insanely awesome, lineup. We can expect to see nothing short of killer performances by the Grammy nominated Plain White T’s, American rock/metal band Nothing More, as well as Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale. A plethora of special guests will also be taking the stage. Fans can get pumped to see artist appearances from some of the biggest names in the alternative rock music industry. Members from As it Is, Avatar, Atilla, Creeper, I See Stars, PVRIS, Slipknot, Wonder Years, and many more are ready to rock our worlds this July. The event will additionally honor influential musicians. Korn will take home the Vanguard Award for their contribution to music culture in challenging themselves and influencing others to re-invent traditional heavy rock. Critically acclaimed rock band Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace, who has utilized music to advocate for the LGBQT community in creating transgender politics awareness, will receive this year’s Icon Award. The Influencer Award will go to Goldfinger frontman and producer John Feldmann for his work to change the music industry landscape by helping bands to hone and harness their skills. The show will include a one-time performance deemed PUNK GOES POP LIVE! to feature artists on Fearless Records' Punk Goes Pop Vol. 7, which is due out on July 14.
