Last week metal-core act Asking Alexandria exploded the metal community when they revealed the identity of their new frontman along with the simotanues release of the band's new single "I Won't Give In." Not only is the tune sitting at #1 on iTunes Rock Charts but it has every AA fan taking to social media, which apparently includes former frontman Danny Worsnop. The single is the first to come from the AA camp since Danny's departure in January, and it comes in good remarks by the former frontman. Worksop comments, "New @AAofficial song (first since my departure) out now! Very happy to hear shit's still going strong. Check it out." While some fans remain disappointed, the line up change seems to be doing both parties well, AA founder Ben Bruce told Kerrang!, "Danny just stopped caring about Asking Alexandria; his heart wasn’t in it anymore. He didn’t like screaming, he didn’t like heavy music, he didn’t like the fans, he didn’t like anything to do with Asking Alexandria."
After years of talk about a new DVD, Avenged Sevenfold is giving fans a new reason to be excited. Yesterday the band posted the video below to their website, teasing the upcoming DVD, 'This Is Bat Country'. According to Blabbermouth, the video is set to be directed by , who worked with Avenged on 2008's and the band's "It is going to encompass the whole world that we've been filming for the last five years, being in all these different countries with our camera guy. That'll be a fun thing, I think. We're going to film some big shows — I think we're filming Mexico City coming up, and we have some other shows we're going to film and kind of intertwine the live performance with this huge DVD we want to do."
After what was surely some of their most career defining moments, the metal-core kings in Asking Alexandria are back and ready to reclaim their throne. Today the band has named ex-Make Me Famous vocalist Denis Shaforostov, as their new frontman and have also released a brand new tune, "I Won't Give In" to go along with the news. Back in January, former-AA frontman Danny Worsnop announced that he was parting ways with the legendary act to pursue new efforts in We Are Harlot. On the same day, Asking Alexandria founder and lead guitarist Ben Bruce assured fans that the show would go on and the band would replace Worsnop. Shaforostov says, "I've been waiting for this moment for so long and now the time has come... I'm extremely happy and proud to announce that now I'm officially a part of such an incredible band and family - Asking Alexandria... I'm beyond excited for this new, unbelievable chapter of my life, though it still feels so surreal!"
This Sunday, May 31st the band will play their first gig with Shaforostov at the Manchester Academy 3, in UK; after which they will be headliner all summer long on Vans Warped Tour. Bruce comments on the band's Facebook page, " will not be slowing down. We are going to tour harder than ever and we are going to write the greatest record of our career ... This isn't the end, this is the start of a whole new chapter. This is where we come together and make history."
