We all know the Foo Fighters are some of the best rockers out there, but now their awesomeness has been verified by the RIAA. The band has achieved 6 new platinum certifications!
The Foo’s 2011 album Wasting Light has gone platinum. It received gold status on May 18, 2011. “Learn to Fly,” a hit single that is impossible to get out of one’s head, has also achieved platinum status.
The 2007 Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace earned its platinum certification, and its popular single “The Pretender” has achieved double platinum status. Pretty impressive, right? But the band’s music recognition doesn’t stop there. Singles “Everlong” from The Colour And The Shape and “Best Of You” from In Your Honor have hit double platinum as well.
Congrats to the Foo Fighters on their major platinum achievements! If the past has anything to do with the future, Concrete and Gold is sure to be worth the wait. The band’s ninth studio album is due out September 15. With features from guest artists like Paul McCartney, and singles that are already rocking our world, we don’t doubt that more platinum certifications are just around the corner.

Mark your calendars folks, Avenged Sevenfold is heading to court in December, and the verdict has the potential to change the entire music industry. The dispute with Warner Bros. began in January 2016, when the label sued the band over a potential album and the band cited the “Seven-Year Rule” to opt out of the deal.
Under California law, the “Seven-Year Rule” allow parties to leave contracts after seven years has passed. A7X terminated their contract in 2015, arguing that significant staff changes and a lack of promotion were grounds for the cancellation.
Following the bands dismissal of Warner Bros., the band released The Stage via Capital Records. However, Warner Bros. is arguing that the “Seven-Year Rule” does not apply because record deals are based on the number of albums released by the band, not the period of time.
This settlement will be the first time in the modern-music industry that the “Seven-Year Rule” will be tried in front of a jury. If the band wins, the industry’s landscape can change dramatically. A win would solicit bands the ability to escape long-term contracts by law.
“We’ve realized this battle is bigger than just us,” says A7X vocalist M. Shadows. “We’re fighting so that all musical artists have the same rights everyone else has. It’s not like we wanted to be here, but we are down for the fight.”
A7X stands to potentially lose $5-10 million that Warner Bros. claims they would have earned from The Stage.

Chicago rockers SOiL have released a new video for their track “Gimme Some Lovin'!” The song will appear on Scream: The Essentials, the band’s upcoming hits collection album. The album will celebrate the band’s 20-year career with songs from their early days, as well as alternate versions of their most popular songs. It is due out September 15 via Pavement Entertainment and AFM Records.
“Gimme Some Lovin’” originally hit the music scene in 1966. It was originally recorded by the Spencer Davis Group, and gained even more popularity when it was featured in the 1980 film, The Blues Brothers. SOiL decided to put a cool hard rock spin on the hit classic, and its modern sound is definitely something to get pumped about.
Other tracks on the new album include an acoustic version of the song “Can You Heal Me,” as well as the track “Give It Up,” which features vocals from the late Wayne Static from Static X.
The video displays black and white footage of the band performing. The start of the video contains a post-script that reads, ““To the SOiL fans: Thank you for 20 years of madness, mayhem and metal!”
SOiL begins their “SCREAM: The Tour” in Flint, Michigan next month. Saving Abel and Kirra will perform with them through October. Flaw and Gabriel and the Apocalypse will take on the supporting role for November and December. You can find all dates here.

In the world of rock, we all know there’s nothing quite like a live performance. We also know that live shows don’t always go off without a voice crack, stage dive injury, or in the case of the Metallica-Lady Gaga Grammy performance, the troublesome technical issue.
James Hetfield’s busted microphone deprived us of his killer vocals for a good portion of the collaborative “Moth into Flame” performance. Luckily for Metallica and Gaga fans alike, Metallica have released footage of the rehearsal prior to the Grammy performance! Fans can now get a better idea of the sound we were supposed to hear at the live event.
Although Lady Gaga is known for her pop style, she expresses love for metal genre and excitement at the chance to rock out with one of the biggest bands of that style. She says in the clip, ““This is so exciting for me. This is so killer. My friends are gonna hate me on Sunday.”
The clips displays footage of Hetfield and Gaga collaborating on vocal techniques, choreography, and stage production. After one take of practice, Lars Ulrich can be heard saying, “Follow that.”

Nothing More has just released a new single ‘Who We Are’ from their upcoming album The Stories We Tell Ourselves. ‘Who We Are’ is the fifth single the band has released and is track 15 on the album.
The track stays true to the Nothing More sound, starting with a mellow riff dowsed in reverb then things get kicked into overdrive with front man Johnny Hawkins screeching: REMEMBER!
Fear is the foundation of self-limitation., and that nothing can grow in a zone of comfort. That is the message here folk’s. Nothing More is calling on us (or themselves) to get over that hump and to keep pushing until we see the big picture and realize that there is something bigger than ourselves.
As the chorus goes:
It's who we are that keeps me believing
There's something here bigger than ourselves
If I’m wrong then why am I still feeling
Who we are keeps me believing.
The Stories We Tell Ourselves is set to drop on September 15 via Better Noise Records. Pre-order The Stories We Tell Ourselves here.
The Stories We Tell Ourselves track listing:
1. (Ambition; Destruction)
2. Do You Really Want It
3. (Convict; Divide)
4. Let ’em Burn
5. Ripping Me Apart
6. Don’t Stop
7. Funny Little Creatures
8. (React; Respond)
9. The Great Divorce

The Stage just got a little wider. That’s right, Avenged Sevenfold has released a new track to the ever-growing album! The band has also provided fans with a visualizer for the track that displays clips of the rockers recording and performing live.
The newest addition is the perfect way to end the summer. It is a cover of the Beach Boys’ classic “God Only Knows.” This track is the fourth cover released after “Retrovertigo,” “Dose” and “Runaway.”
Avenged Sevenfold’s take on “God Only Knows” stays fairly true to the original song. It maintains a mellow vibe throughout its duration, giving us that summertime, laid back feel that the Beach Boys are known for, but with a bit more edge. Avenged even nailed the Beach Boy’s style of multilayered vocals!
Avenged has just completed all stops on the Metallica WorldWired tour, which lasted for over three months. A7X’s only 2017 show left will be at Houston Open Air on October 15. After all the hard work of touring these guys have put in, it's no wonder they’re dreaming of chill vibes at the beach!
You can buy the new “God Only Knows” cover here. Take a listen below!
