Avenged Sevenfold have released a cover of “Retrovertigo.” The track was first released in 1999 by American rock band Mr. Bungle.
“Retrovertigo” follows the band’s rendition of Mexican folk song “Malagueña Salerosa,” which came out earlier this month. The new track doesn't come as a complete surprise, as Avenged promised to continually add new material to their latest album The Stage. The band’s 7th album was released last October via Capitol Records, and only continues to grow.
Vocalist M. Shadows said of the album expansions, “For us, the idea of turning an album into a living piece of art and adding new installations is really intriguing. It expands the journey.”
Avenged Sevenfold takes the original and relatively soft “Retrovertigo” and puts a heavy metal spin on it. The cover was released during the band’s North American tour with Metallica and Volbeat.
