What do you get when you mix some of the best acts in metal today, die-hard fans and a sponsorship from Tecate? That would be Knotfest Mexico 2017, returning for its third consecutive year in spectacular fashion. Knotfest is an international hard rock and heavy metal festival that keeps on growing with every show, expanding to Japan and Mexico after its initial success in Iowa and Wisconsin back in 2012. This year was no exception.
A Perfect Circle and Korn headlined the event with notable special guests such as Anthrax, Stone Sour and Bullet For My Valentine. Named after its creators in Slipknot, it has been five years since the first event captured the attention of every metal head from here to Tokyo, and with a lineup like this it is easy to see why. Unfortunately Slipknot was absent from Knotfest Mexico this year, however the city of Toluca received the next best thing when lead vocalist Corey Taylor took the stage with Stone Sour, currently on tour promoting their newest release Hydrograd.
If you couldn’t make it to Mexico for the concert then don’t fret! Ozzfest Meets Knotfest begins November 4th in San Bernardino, CA and there are still tickets available through the official website. Taking place at the Glen Helen Amphitheater, this will be the second installment of this collaboration between Slipknot and Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy will take the stage after Black Sabbath’s final tour earlier this year along with bands such as the Deftones, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.
