By David McNally Nothing More unveiled a fiery music video today for their new lead single “Go To War” from their upcoming album, The Stories We Tell Ourselves. The band has also announced that the new album is set to drop on September 15 via Better Noise Records. The song showcases Johnny Hawkins incredible vocal range, begining with soft, erratic vocals from the front man. As the track picks up and gains momentum, heavy guitar riffs begin to creep out from under Hawkins vocals. Warning: headbanging will commence during the chorus! The track is about trust in relationships and the stupidity of the arguments that ensue when trust begins to fade. “Trust is the foundation of every relationship. As trust erodes, our need for control grows. ‘Go to War’ is about how we circle the problem, unknowingly spinning the web tighter. If you circle enough, it becomes a spiral. If you spiral enough, it becomes a war,” says Hawkins. But with the addition of a video to match the single, the band also places a political focus on war and how numb political leaders become to their mindlessness. In the video, the band tells the story of a band playing at a dive bar where couples are arguing while the bars televisions are simultaneously airing a political rally to inspire a nation to go to war. As the song builds up to the heavy chorus, absolute insanity breaks out. The arguments heat up and turn into brawls, embodying a metaphorical “war.” Check out the video below!
