Watch the premiere of the newest Shinedown music video, "GET UP," out since August 8th, 2018; it is track #11 from ATTENTION ATTENTION [05.04.18].
Press Here comments, "["GET UP"] was born out of vocalist, Brent Smith watching his friend, Shinedown bassist Eric Bass, deal with depression. Offering a light in a time of darkness, especially with mental health issues, is something Brent is deeply connected to after battling his own personal demons. Reaching far beyond any genre or label, "GET UP" speaks to the human spirit in a time of need, and it's a song that has already resonated with the masses - becoming a fan favorite at arena shows on tour where the crowd response is palpable, and racking up more than 5 million total streams totally organically."
Multi-platinum Shinedown includes Brent Smith [vocals], Zach Myers [guitar], Eric Bass [bass, production], and Barry Kerch [drums]. The band has sold more than 10 million albums and 10 million singles worldwide.
Shinedown recently announced a European headlining tour, set to kick off October 29, 2018 with tickets on sale. They are currently on the road this summer for a co-headlining U.S. tour with Godsmack. Visit shinedown.com or click the photo below!
Shinedown's music video for, "GET UP" was directed by the mesmerizing Bill Yukich who has previously released with Wiz Khalifa ["See You Again" 2015], Beyonce ["Sorry" 2016] and Marilyn Manson ["Kill4Me" 2017]. For an index of his work, reference IMVDb at the link here. The music video for "Get Up" [Track #11] from ATTENTION ATTENTION [04.04.18], features a diverse cast narrating the song's lyrical theme of self-empowerment and optimism; the ending leaves room for ambiguity and audience interpretation.
We're met with elegance throughout the entirety of the film; the protagonist is dressed for an important event. Throughout the video she reflects on a positive relationship with her partner and child. At the threshold of the lyrics, "I believe you can be whatever; and I agree you can do much better; trust me" we encounter a change in mood. The character begins to interlace fights with loving memories. Shinedown perform in a formal theatre; the room decorated with funeral candles yet ambient sunlight. Impeccable cinematography!

Rick Genest, known as Zombie Boy, was born on August 07, 1985, and departed at age 32 on August 1st, 2018; announced by Billboard. The Canadian [LaSalle & Montreal, Quebec] actor, model and musician appeared in Lady Gaga's infamous, "Born This Way" music video; Lady Gaga painted her face to match his tattoos - Gif below. We delve into Zombie Boy's music appearances in the global rock and metal stage within the last decade; sharing [2013 to 2015] music videos where Rick Genest was vocalist or instrumentalist for collaborated projects; join us in our tribute.
Revolver published, "[Rick Genest] grew up in the city's underground punk scene; he got his first tattoo at age 16. By the time he turned 20, his body was practically covered with morbid, skeletal-inspired ink; giving him the appearance of a corpse (hence the nickname)." The NY Times adds, "In 2011, [Genest] made it into The Guinness World Records for most insects tattooed on the body - 176."
In People Magazine, on August 3rd, 2018; Dulcedo Management, who represented Genest, stated they are: "- shocked and saddened by this tragedy.” They shared: “Zombie Boy, Rico, was loved by everyone who had the chance to meet and know him. Icon in the artistic scene and in the fashion and entertainment industries, this innovator has charmed all hearts.”
In a statement obtained by PEOPLE from Dulcedo Management, they wrote that “contrary to reports,” the classification of Genest's death “is yet to be determined.”
Revolver describes prior to the release of "Born This Way:" "Genest was approached by Nicola Formichetti — creative director for fashion mogul Thierry Mugler, and Lady Gaga's stylist — who catapulted him to international fame: this time as a supermodel, as opposed to a side-show attraction. In addition to his starring role in Gaga's "Born This Way" video, Genest appeared in a Mugler ad campaign, modeled for GQ, Vanity Fair, and Vogue Hommes, made cameos in blockbuster films like 2013's 47 Ronin. Genest turned his focus to music; at the time of his death, he had been working on an original LP alongside Rob Zombie guitarist Mike Riggs."
By "side-show" attraction, Mirror.CO.UK interviews Rick Genest who describes his teenage years, "Aged 15, I found out I had a brain tumour. I was told I could die or be left disfigured; I guess this spiralled me into becoming obsessed with the morbid and macabre. As it happened, the operation to remove the tumour went without a hitch, but since then, I’ve known life was too short to not fulfill my dreams of tattoos and body modifications."
Genest adds, "I had my first tattoo – a skull and crossbones on my left shoulder – aged 16 after my operation. I was an outcast Goth as a teen and ran away from home after my first inking. I had an argument with my parents, over something I can’t even remember now, and running away was an act of rebellion."

Recently, Good Charlotte released their second single "Shadowboxer" off their upcoming highly anticipated seventh studio album 'Generation Rx;' scheduled to be released to the public on September 14, via a newly issued global partnership between the band's MDDN label and BMG.
'Generation Rx' signifies a new chapter for the group-brothers Joel (Vocals) and Benji Madden (Guitar and Vocals), Billy Martin (Guitar), Paul Thomas (Bass), and Dean Butterworth (Drums), while also staying in touch with their old roots that speak directly to the youth. Good Charlotte is promoting their album head-on by releasing their singles "Actual Pain" [link to archives here] and "Shadowboxer" early; along with the announcement of a massive 2018 North American Tour with a European/UK tour to follow in 2019. If you haven’t seen the new music video for the single "Shadowboxer" yet check it out below!
"Shadowboxer" is an extremely personal and meaningful track that is followed by a heartfelt video that was directed by Jake Stark. Good Charlotte, in this track, addresses the issue of mental health and the struggles that come with depression. The video for "Shadowboxer" is a direct look at everyday people confronting the pain and struggle that is reflected at them as they hopelessly look at themselves in the mirror. In this type of situation, pain is often not visible to the other people around you, which allows mental illness to overcome that person as they suffer
If you or anyone you know is struggling with depression, know that someone is always there. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-273-8255.
You can pre-order Generation Rx right now at https://store.goodcharlotte.com/collections/generation-rx. Also, view below to check out where you could see Good Charlotte this year!

Crossfaith has released a new single titled, "The Perfect Nightmare" in anticipation of their upcoming fifth album release later this year [official release day TBA]; following up from Xeno . This summer and fall they are on a global tour, sharing stage on select dates with Underoath & Bullet For My Valentine.
We've tapped into Japan's legendary Crossfaith in our #TBT available in the HRTV archives: here. We quoted that within 2012, they were pioneers of hybrid metal with electronica & dupstep, especially due to their insidious single, "Monolith" from their second EP, 'Zion.'
Original members to present day include: Terufumi Tamano [keyboard], Kenta Koie [vocalist]; Hiroki Ikegawa [bass], Kazuki Takemura [guitar] and Tatsuya Amano [drums].
"The Perfect Nightmare" | New Single Review | June 05, 2018
This new single and lyric video is absolute fire! The gritty, glitched dynamic typography is engaging for first and repeated listening experiences. My favorite delivery is towards the ending; the heightened escalation of talented songwriting.
Within press, Kenta discloses, "It's one of the heaviest tracks we've ever made. This song's full of chaos and brutality so we wanted to make this video with sickness and strangeness too."
Lastly, "Watch this and let you have a huge expectation for upcoming album! See you soon!"
