Prophets of Rage have released a powerful new track ‘Radical Eyes’ off their upcoming self-titled debut album.
They newly formed rap rock super-group is comprised of Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, DJ Lord, Chuck D, and B-Real. The track features Morello laying down a groovy lick, setting the perfect rhythm for Chuck D to take lead on the vocals as he and B-Real play tag, going back and forth on the chorus.
The group is challenging the social and political climate in America, and while the music may sound like left overs from Rage Against the Machine, there is an important message conveyed in the lyrics.
“The Western world has created biased structures and stereotypes. Opposing viewpoints and movements are seen as radical rather than diversity,” says Chuck D. in a statement about the song. “‘Radical Eyes’ is the lens everything is viewed through, any life movement in opposition is considered radicalized.”
The band has made ‘Radical Eyes’ available on all platforms. Click here to stream the track on Spotify.
Prophets of Rage debut album will be dropping on September 15, 2017. The band will be going on tour September 7, starting in Boston and ending in at Ozzfest in San Bernadino, CA. Tickets are available here.
