Recently the Manchester sensation, The 1975, announced that their third album, which will be titled "Music For Cars" will release next year in 2018. Frontman Matt Healy released this news back in February on twitter saying only "Music For Cars - 2018."
Check out the tweet here.
Now more information surrounding future 1975 plans ha arisen in an interview between Beats 1 and Healy. In the interview Healy stated, “We were always gonna do a trilogy of records. I’m not saying that after this album it’s the end of The 1975, but it’s the end of an era.”
What could this mean for the band? Is this the first phase of a long, formulated project, or could they be changing their sound? Much speculation comes from this and Healy's claim to "retreat from the world to make Music For Cars. Please keep informing me. I learn so much from our fans and I value you so much x"
So, with no new information for the time being we are left to wait and wonder what's in store for the band. While you wait, reminisce on the great sounds of 'I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It' and their self titled record and keep it tuned here for more updates!
