By Alexis Arnold After 23 groundbreaking years, Vans Warped Tour has reached its end. In an exclusive interview with Billboard , Founder Kevin Lyman revealed that Vans Warped Tour’s 2018 tour will be their last. “I have been a very lucky person to have traveled across the country and sometimes around the world as one of the founders and producers of the Vans Warped Tour. Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour. I sit here reflecting on the tour’s incredible history, what the final run means for our community, and look forward to what’s to come as we commemorate the tour’s historic 25th anniversary in 2019,” said Lyman in a statement on their official website. Still being filled, but they’re hopeful whichever bands they choose will make the tour’s final year its best.
“You’re gonna see a big mix of bands I felt really embraced the Warped Tour lifestyle,” Lyman noted. “I don’t want to say a ‘mature’ lineup, but bands that I think could use one more big push of Warped Tour to help further their careers." In his closing remarks of the official statement, Lyman expressed his gratitude to all that made Warped Tour possible. “I truly look forward to seeing as many of you as possible during this final cross country run, and getting to thank you for your support on this wild adventure. Until then, take care and be safe.” You can read the rest of Kevin Lyman’s statement here. Fans can also begin buying limited edition tickets here.
